In August 2023, I gave a lecture at Cityscape Global Conference and Fair in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In the brief presentation, I highlighted the need to look beyond architecture to arrive at human centered architecture. Human existence is more than living in a building. The space in between is crucial and often overlooked. A collection of architectural projects does not make a city yet. The in-between space is key – and too often overlooked or not designed with an eye on its usability in the climate in question.
